Writer's Block: Happy New Year of the Dragon!
hi there harey bunny
What is your Chinese zodiac animal?
My animal sign in Chinese Zodiac is Rabbit.

According to one article from the internet, let me quote:

Rabbits are private individuals, a bit introverted and withdrawn. People  born into this sign would rather work behind-the-scenes instead of being the center of attention in any situation. Do not misunderstand…the Rabbit is not a recluse. In fact, he is a reasonably friendly individual who enjoys the company of a group of good friends whether at a business dinner or a holiday party. Rabbits just like to be a part of the gang as opposed to the leader of it.

Most of the adjectives given out in the above paragraph are true about me. Yes, I am usually introverted and private, but I'm not a total recluse or antisocial. In fact, I love meeting people and listening to them. Although I am not usually talkative with people I just met, or some old friends, as long as I find out that you are ready to listen to me, I'll willingly tell you the story of my life, from mundane things to philosophical ones, to things I love and hate.

Rabbits, like their animal counterparts, are quite calm people who do not exhibit aggressive behavior and will avoid confrontation at all costs. When angry about something, a Rabbit will approach it calmly and considerately, hardly ever raising his voice or becoming visibly annoyed. Because of their serenity, Rabbits seem to miss things, whether they are confrontational in nature or not. However, the Rabbit is quite keen and pays close attention to the situations developing around him. He is intelligent and quick and can talk himself in or out of most situations with no problem.

I didn't get the last par, though it is true that I am not confrontational and I hardly (or never) get into noisy fights and skirmishes. Whenever I'm mad I usually rant to my friends or cry. Do I look pathetic? Haha. I'm fine that way.

The Chinese Rabbit is one of the most stylish creatures of the Chinese Animal Signs and finds interest in different cultures. He is classy and sophisticated, and can be found adorning one of the latest fashion magazine cover looks. Rabbits also like artistic ventures, such as painting and music and are generally quite present in these worlds. They love top express themselves, which is evident when joining them at home for a function or a cup of coffee.

I don't think I'm good in expressing myself and I don't usually go with the trends. Still, I find this paragraph a bit true abut me, especially about being engaged in artistic ventures. :)

How about you? What's your sign? Do you find it true based on your personality?

Writer's Block: Globetrotting
If you were given the opportunity to spend two weeks in any country in the world free of charge, which country would you choose, and why?

ever since I was young. I really wanted to go to Japan.

I wanna ko to a public bath.
Ski in Hokkaido.
Watch the fall of the Cherry blossoms.
Visit Tokyo. Shinjuku. And all the great places.

I want to go there in Spring. :)

Writer's Block: It worked for Norma Jeane
Norma Jeane Mortenson will always be remembered by her screen name, Marilyn Monroe. What stage name would you choose if you were an entertainer, and why?

cath forever. so when I lose fame/popularity, people would shake their heads and say:

"cath forever is not forever."

What's your favorite line from a song, and why?

I have a lot of favorite songs and lines from songs, but for now, what I think of is:

"Pwede bang itigil muna ang pag-ikot ng mundo?"
(Can we just make the world stop turning for a while?)

It's a line from my all-time(since 2005?06?07?) favorite song "Spoliarium" by my favorite, now defunct band Eraseheads. It was originally released in 1997 from the the band's 5th album Sticker Happy and was remade by Imago in 2005(?)

The line is perfect, vague, but clear, sad and happy.

Can we just make the world stop turning for while? I ask when everything is in topsy turvy. Or when I'm confused. It's a sad line. Like when you're fed up or just want to clear things out.

Can we just make the world stop turning for while? When I'm too happy. Seeing people I miss. Being with the most humorous situations and when I am listening to my favorite songs, seeing a rainbow, etc.

But my reason is quite detached from the whole message and meaning of the song.

Writer's Block: Merlin revisited
If you were granted unlimited magic powers for just five minutes, what would you do?

I'd stop the world and do things I need to do. Like finish all the write ups and blogs, and then I'll grant wishes of my loved ones. Not everything, just a few, and those really important. If I were to do everything for them, I'd make their life boring and unchallenging.

I'd fly to some of the beautiful places too (while the world is at halt) like Batanes, Hokkaido, Jeju Island, Paris and Italy and eat pizza. yum.yum.

I'd also visit 2 people I miss so much. And talk with them, while the whole world is still paused. haha.

Writer's Block: Say goodbye to Kansas, Dorothy
If you woke up surrounded by doctors who told you that you'd been in a medical experiment since birth and that your entire life had been a dream, how do you think you'd react?

My initial reaction of course is to be shocked. To discover that my family, friends and everyone who got involved in my life are all just part of a dream is really shattering. Still, whether there is something or nothing in my future after this discovery, I still have to go on. at least, that dream was so vivid that I was able to love and hate and be happy and sad. I was showered with emotions. And 24 year-long dream was still a part of who I really am.

Writer's Block: Forever young
If you found a magical stone that could keep one person young forever, would you keep it or give it to someone else? If the latter, to whom would you give it?

the promise of youth is always enticing, yet I wouldn't dream of this kind of magic for myself or even someone I know.

Living young forever, while the ones you love grow old and die eventually can be quite sad and lonely. I'd rather age naturally and enjoy every stage of my "human-ness" from being a child, a teenager, adult, etc.

Anyway, I can stay young at heart forever, even my physical features change.

Writer's Block: The best of times
What song reminds you of the happiest times in your life, and why?

when we try to connect songs with emotions, I think it will be easier to relate the sad moments of your lives to certain songs. I could clearly remember a couple of songs among others, which I deliberately listened to while I lay on my bed  and cried with. One is an Avril Lavigne and another one from Rivermaya. Those were a few years back. If you'd ask me there are more than a dozen songs I listen/ed to which made me cry and feel sad.

White Houses by Vanessa C.
I Won't Love by Baek Ji Young
Pare Ko by Eraserheads
Signal fire by Snow Patrol
Fix You, Coldplay
I Love You oh Thank You, MC Mong
I Believe, Shin Seung Hun
Back To December, Taylor Swift
Light years, Eheads
Kanlungan, Noel Cabangon
The Planets Bend Between Us, Snow Patrol

Aw. there's a lot really. And those above are just few samples which I remember at the moment.

Seriously, when I think about these songs now, I feel a pinch of sadness, remembering people who used to be sharing a tiny world with me and stuff.

Anyway, to note of the songs that make me remember good times and laughter, I need to shake of some bits from my brain for a moment.

Well, Top of the World is my favorite song when I do feel floating in cloud 9. Whenever I hear or sing the song, there are no particular memories rushing in on me. Just feel-good emotion. Though the song is basically a love song, I sing it on my head whenever I have great experiences during the day. Not being in love, particularly.

Put Your Records On by Corrine Bailey Rae is another feel-good song. It reminds me of summer and carefree days. And biking and feeling the sun slightly burn your skin.

It feels good when a person you haven't talked with for a long time shares stories and anecdotes with you again. It just makes you laugh uncontrollably. And your heart flutters. :)
